I guess Palisander is a german variety of rosewood!

If they are the same as the ones we got here in Canada then trust me, they are well worth it. The Honey Bursts can be pretty yellow but some are darker. The Tobacco Bursts are gorgeous. Some of the Honey Bursts are dark enough to look like Tobacco Bursts. There are a bunch of these owned by forum members here.

They were sold as Traditionals here in Canada but Gibson considers them Standards.

Palisander is a Nicaraguan rosewood. Check it in Wikipedia.

If you check any other Gibson guitar's specs on Thomann's German website, you'll find out that "Palisander" simply means rosewood in German. There's no distinction based on origin.

Oh, and if you're baffled by the existence of other languages, just choose a more convenient one from the list of flags at the top the page.

Those look amazing, there's something of a 'worn' look to them. The zebras also really suit the finish on these.

The figure on the guitar in the second link reminds me of a BFG for some reason
