just like the title says, I just need some expert advice here, im looking at a few R8 models all of them are between the years 2006-2009 and prices seem to vary vastly, so I just want to know what the experts here think one of these should be worth. and all of the ones I'm eyeing are cherry sunburst or honey burst plain tops. I also have a 2004 Standard that's in great shape, its what I have seen called a "Peek-a-boo burst" the flame only shows in certain angles. it has lived in its case a majority of its life as well until I got it about a month ago. I will have to sell it to finance the R8 so id like some opinions on its value as well, one pic of it is in my introduction thread. I should mention that I Paid 1500 for it. thanks!

Below $2,500 US.
$1,500 for the Standard without seeing it.

that's about what I was thinking, I was browsing on ebay and reverb sold listings and most have gone from 2100-2900 but I see them listed anywhere from 2300-4200 :wow:

Prices are up right now. I've been seeing them anywhere from $2500 to $3500 for what I'd consider 'reasonable'. Of course some are trying to sell for much more than that. That also means you may be able to get a bit more for your Standard if it's how you describe it. Good luck, and here's hoping a nice R8 will soon be in your hands! :cheers2:

“Forum price” would be 2200-2500, “reverb, ebay, GC price” would be 2500-3000. Reissues seem to sell for a little less on the forums, a little more through other channels.

Welcome to the forum. I think the guys are leading you in the right direction at $2,500-$2,800 US. Especially a plain top. Good luck. I am sure your 04 is nice. I sold them in that era and most were very nice. But if you get a R8 you will be glad you did. Plain tops are great! One of the best ones I owned was a 09 tobacco R8. I still miss it!

This one looks good if you can haggle the price down a bit. Nice top for an R8.

I always have a difficult time finding these “reasonable” prices when it comes to actually buying a guitar. Yeah, those prices are great. Please show them to me!

You should put up a WTB ad in the Classifieds.
Some people don`t consider selling until they see someone looking.

i guess demand for these has gone up. even all the guitar shops I’ve called who have them are asking between 3500-5000 for one

Asking price and selling price are usually different.
