Hmmm... In the video's from Gibson, I see someone doing the final finishing sanding and there is still a bit of work to smooth it with the final roll which is where things can then vary from neck to neck I am sure.

So, we can usually expect Les Paul necks to be either clunky, or clunkier. If you want a fast neck, or a comfy neck without bruising shoulders, you will usually have to go to an SG. Never found an SG neck, thick or thin, I didn't like!

After all, beating a Les Paul into submission is part of the mystique! And all that brutal hog sticking out there really helps the tone, too, I'm thinking.

You got probably 9+ pounds of guitar hanging off your body, what's a little chord hand fatigue? If you didn't love that glorious tone, you wouldn't put up with the rest of it.

Ugh... Hate the SG neck dive which makes the whole SG playing experience tiresome holding the neck up while playing.
