I put speed knobs on my Oxblood 50s Standard. A bit of a nod to the original master who wielded the OG Oxblood Lester. These were the original knobs on my 2016 Trad; slid right on and fit like a glove. I think they look nice over the thumb bleeders.

This is my 2007 Les Paul Goldtop Deluxe. GOTW #8.

It’s a bit of an oddball guitar anyway.
Binding on the headstock.
Originally came with mini-humbuckers, but they had to go.

I installed P-90s from Lindy Fralin, and a control kit from RS Guitarworks.
Installed Grover Rotomatics, and later swapped those for the locking version.

Then Ted Nugent autographed it at the 2009 NRA convention in Phoenix.

I got some finish cracking and splitting radiating out from the two lower knobs.
All I can figure is the paint got chipped putting the new pots in, and then the finish checking radiated out from there.

Since I am not into VOS or the whole relic thing, I did not see this as a positive development.
On a whim, I decided to go ahead and force the checking to see how far it would go.
The guitar spent several hours outside in subfreezing temps on two separate nights. Alternating with trips back inside to the heater.
The checking didn’t move at all.
So, I guess it’s done.

A couple years ago, I discovered the Lightning Guitars angle-drilled TOM tailpieces, and this guitar got one.
I can slam the tailpiece to the deck, and the strings still don’t touch the back of the bridge.

Then tonight, it got the black pickup covers and poker chip.
I’m gonna leave the knobs for now.

As far as I could figure, the only original parts left on this guitar are the bridge and the selector switch.
And the gold knobs.

Damn brother........takes alot to make me envious.........remember that scene in Oldschool when Shawn william Scott ( Stifler)
Saw Frank the Tank shoot himself with a Tranquilizer gun? " points and says..... " Thats awesome!!!"

This LP is the first one ever.........Im not modding. Ive changed out Pick ups in every one I've owned. Maybe a titanium bridge.....tuners......Orange drops.......done it all............but this guitar is peeeeerfect. Its got so much top end......easy to dial in bottom thats tight and percussive. Neck is slightly smaller then a 59. Again.....Its perfect. Not my favorite color .....Id rather have a dirty lemon unburst.......but I degrees. Gibson or should I say.....Tom Murphy got this one right.

The only bad thing, to me, is the autograph
