The logo looks similar to the one on my oldest mahogany tone machine

little spendy for what it is. Nice though and I think the logo is just fine. it does come with a hard case and the rounded profile is one I really like. At 1K I'd be giving it serious consideration, and at 899.00 I would be saying merry christmas to me...

Get the Jr if you want one - you will not regret it. The logo is sweet IMO - it's like the one from the old vintage acoustics and mandolins. A little strange to see it on a Jr, but it looks cool and wouldn't deter me from buying one.

Regarding the price, I paid more than $1299 for my Historic VOS Jr five years ago. I don't regret the purchase one bit as it's the best sounding and playing guitars I've ever owned.

Looks cool and I actually quite like the (pre-war?) old acoustic logo.

Price? I think it’s a little too high. Assuming wood, finish and build quality are the same standard as the Studio / Traditional / Standard line (as opposed to the cheaper Tribute or Faded lines) it should be a couple of hundred less than a Studio since no carved top or inlays.

I love the old logo. I used to have an acoustic with that logo, never could date it definitively but it was a really sweet old girl. Traded it for a tele, which I sold to buy an amp, which I flipped for another amp, yada yada yada...

GAS sucks.

i think the logo and TRC are some of the only things that model has going for it. No slug coil P90, no lightning bar tailpiece, weak-sauce finish, no PLEK, no peal inlays, no thick fingerboard, and the price sux. Probably plays and sounds decent enough though.

Whoa there, brother...Why would you want a slug P90 in a Junior? And the tailpiece is a throwback to old-school (which is sought after by many. Self included.) as well as the inlays. Pearl dots in a Junior? Don't be silly.

Price aside, its gloss, finally has the right slanted tail piece, 50's neck, neck joint, & logo is nothing to bother about maybe even a plus. Wait for one at a reduced price and you've got a rock monster - grab onto that 50's neck and jam. I dig this one for sure (except the $).

The P-90 lost it's slug magnets long before the Junior appeared. Gibson had replaced the original P-90 in the late '40s with the current design and having adjustable pole pieces was a definite upgrade. I'm not sure what the reasoning was to bring back the slugs in 2014, but the P-90S is wound hotter than the original. They're great pickups; I have them in my '14 LPMM and it doesn't have the typical LP with P-90 sound. A Junior would sound wrong with a P-90S.

If I were to buy an '18 Junior really cheaply, I would leave it mostly alone, but have the logo re-silkscreened. ;)

Well, then you'd have a Custom Shop Junior!

Regarding the price: We all know Gibson has been raising their prices (fairly dramatically and steadily) over the past several years. Given that new Standards are close to $3000 now and new Trads are around $2500, it doesn't surprise me that they are asking $1300 for this Jr.

What does surprise me is that the specs on this one are actually closer to the Historic Jrs than what you would typically expect out of a USA Gibby. I think it's a nice guitar. If you wait until late summer 2018, you can probably nab one of these for $1000. If you pull the trigger now at $1300, I would just say HNGD and enjoy your awesome JR.
