So my much anticipated package arrived yesterday evening...
.
A much loved, but cool as hell Klemt Echolette NG 51 'S' tape delay.
I've ordered some tape from the UK, and am thus hanging for that to arrive... I'm guessing I could have made my own..?
Anyone had any first hand experiences with the Echolette? Any tips and tricks to share?
I plugged this one in and with the input level at 12o'clock (50%), it was providing quite a hot (and lovely) overdrive. I didn't think it'd be that overdriven, but before buying it I did expect tubes and servicing could be in order.
I've read some people alter the input resistor arrangement to reduce the gain to compensate for modern pickups..
I've not had the time to play with the internal trim pots yet, though am not 100% on how to set it up.
The manual is in the post too.
Anyone else have themselves an oldschool tape delay?
