May sound weird but I'm barely starting to get into KISS... I heard Destroyer years ago but didn't really see what all the fuss was about, I always liked songs like "Love Gun" and "Strutter" but always thought I'd heard enough of "Rock and Roll All Nite" and it kind of turned me off... Anyways, my brother, who I had no idea listened to KISS plays me "Hotter than Hell" and I heard "Goin Blind" and was like "Holy Crap! That's a Kiss song?" (Having listened to it 1000 from the Melvins) So anyways, I've been digging it and since they're so cheap on Amazon wound up picking up the first three albums and Rock & Roll Over... Rock and Roll is my bread and butter, just found it interesting that this band has taken so long to click with me... anyways, just wanted to share for the love of music... ROCK\m/.

Saw the Melvins open for KISS on the Reunion Tour. They got booed the whole time they were on stage. Props to them for sticking it out though.

Now go pick up "Alive" and "Alive II" to hear all those songs live. (Thank me later.) :thumb:

Regardless of how much of those recordings are actually live and how much was overdubbed to me is immaterial. Both of those records pack so much power and electricity, to me they are the standard on how live records should sound. And 30 years later they still hold up.

Will do... Still wondering if I maybe took too many pain pills this weekend, but I can't stop listening to KISS... Kind of a breath of fresh air... I must say though, I don't think you could write a song like "Christine Sixteen" these days without being confronted by Chris Hansen... But still, great Rock and Roll!!!

Alive! on CD and KISSology I on DVD are all you need to know about KISS.

There is other good stuff too, but these two product stand head and shoulders above anything else they have ever released. I suspect that they will never, ever, ever top them.

KISS back in their day were incredible.

hey its never too late, the older records are fantastic bar none, Hotter Than Hell is my personal favorite. On the newer side of Kiss I do recommend the Revenge album, I think Kiss were hitting on something with that record then all the reunion stuff took off.

Yeah, next paycheck probably gonna pick up Love Gun and Destroyer and most definitely Alive... I love getting excited about music like this, it's been a while, but music has always just come in to my life whenever it's ready for some reason... I'm still tripping out over this but I'm just rollin' with it... it's fun. Plus I haven't been too impressed with anything new music wise... The last great recently made record I bought was GHOST Opus Eponymous...

I always kinda liked em, then when I saw them live I became a super fan. I love all their music! Like mentioned tho, a lot of songs like strutter are kind of boring in the studio, but when you listen to them live! They are full of energy and the guitar screams and wails and it becomes a bada$$ rock and roll song.

KISS for life!

:dude:What took so long??

My first KISS concert was at Magic Mountain in 1978.. I was hooked after that. Like they said, Alive and Alive 2... Then listen to some of the later stuff with Bruce Kulick on lead guitar..

Here are a few of my favorites from Alive.

Y'know, it's the damned'st thing, I'm still kind of trippin' out about it, but music has always just come into my life like that when it's ready to for some reason, it chooses me y'know, I don't choose it (sounds corny but who cares, I love it!) but I think I'm hooked... Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are proving themselves to be a couple of perverts, but I listen to the music y'know, and I think I've just found a new guitar hero in Ace Frehley, not to mention song writer... Just got the first three albums and Rock and Roll over and I think I might order "Alive!" tonight... I was just rockin' out in the garage with my Lester and I think I've just about nailed "Parasite"... coolest riff I've heard in a while, just great music...

Ok... So far, best of the bunch of what I've got is "Rock & Roll Over"... But everything is great, runner up is "hotter than hell"... I've heard a little of the 80's stuff with Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr and really dig it to tell the truth, but I'm waiting to blow that load all in one pop (AKA planning on getting "Revenge" "Creatures Of The Night" et al in one order...)... so for now just absorbing the old school stuff and loving it...

Their most underrated album IMO

Carnival_of_Souls_KISS.jpg

You know I just picked this up on Amazon because it was only $5, but what a gem! Anyways, just listened to it last night and for what it was, I loved it... What a unique album... Didn't feel like I was listening to KISS at any point in it... so I can only imagine the reactions when this first came out. The opening song "Hate" could easily pass for a St. Vitus or Pentagram song, and the whole record is obviously influenced by a lot of Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and even a little Sevendust. "Childhoods End" and "Seduction of The Innocent" really stood out... but the whole album was great. If that was their answer to 90's Grunge, I loved it! Thanks Kezia!
