I think they look great, Shoalsrangers. Much better than the kidney beans to my eyes as well. Love the chrome too :applause:

I did see on your last picture that the switch nut needs to be tightened a bit.
You should send your guitar to me, I'll do it for you :naughty:

For the knobs that You can see through, are they already threaded? I they are, I wonder if You painted the threads with automotive touch up in a similar color if if would make the threads less noticeable? Just a thought.

No, they aren't threaded. They just slip on the shaft and the screw slips inside it.

But yea, I thought about that. You could just paint the screw and the tuner shaft to match the button color. You would have to paint the shaft on the tuner and the screw first, screw on the button, then paint the screw head to avoid the paint coming off while you tighten it up.

It would probably still be noticeable, but not as much. That really didn't bother me very much. I think they look good as is. I just liked the chrome better personally.

I've had the Hipshot pearloid keystones on my Epi for a couple months. Love them. Guitar looks so much better. I wrapped the screw threads in white plumber's Teflon tape to make them look a bit less noticeable.

$20 for set of 6.

I originally purchased these from The Stratosphere b/c they were a few dollars cheaper but it got lost in the mail and they refused to ship a replacement or refund me. I had to open a Ebay case just to get my money back. Ridiculous. I will never order from them again.

Allparts is awesome and I should have ordered from them to begin with. I can't wait to see what they look like after I install them and I'm hoping the chrome matches...which I'm sure it will. Most sites that carry these have them in nickel and chrome.

Yea, me too. It was disappointing. It was the first time I have ever had a problem purchasing anything on Ebay. I understand how sometimes sh*t happens and things get lost in the mail, but for a retailer to just ignore it and move on is disheartening. I sent them several emails and messages over the course of two weeks and never got a reply. The only time I heard back from them was after Ebay customer service stepped in and gave me a refund, they put a follow up comment to the negative feedback I left for the transaction on Ebay. It was a smart-ass comment that said "Sorry your item was lost by USPS, wish we had control". LOL.

Sorry to hear. That is a bit disheartening. I have done business with them about ten times before and even had a return (bigsby SCREW) and it was no problem. I wonder if he understands that they are on the hook for the package arriving, and not you? Or maybe I'm mistaken? But this is the kind of thing that makes you think twice...

Anyway, good thread and good help. Ya'll just saved some people from changing out their entire tuners. :fingersx:

Haha, that would be great. Though Creamtone would have to go into debt to pay Satchmo all of those fees they would owe him. :D

I'm glad he sings their praises so constantly though or I would never have found someone to make my custom pickguard for the project guitar.

In having problems finding new tuners I like. It seems we live in a kidney bean world.

Heres some info I posted on another thread. I figure I'd post here too.

Hey, quick update.

I filed down the casting marks of the hipshot tuner buttons and used the dremel with a wire wheel to soften the edges and give it a nice satin finish. if you compare the pic I posted you can see the edges are a bit rounder. It made it at touch less clear and feels a lot better.

Here are a few aged vs stock close ups of the buttons.

I decided to wrap the threads of the screws in white plumbers thead tape on only the aged ones while I was at it.

So on the left is the original buttons
On the right is the aged / white threaded version.

I'm sure you can see a difference. It feels a lot better.

Wait, I'd assumed these were locking tuners, due to the knurled knob on the back. Is it some sort of tension adjust, instead?
