You and me both. I dont carry a gun execpt out in the hills. I'm with you..I'm gone.
I carry everywhere I go. The wife too. Just got me thinking what I would do if I couldnt hit reverse and get out of there. I aint much on getting my head bashed in.
The wife would probably have emptied her pistol on him before he got to her fender.
Man.

Do what you want, but I carry everywhere that I legally can. I was just heading out my front door to work when I had to shoot a dog attacking a child. I also find it nice to feel comfortable stopping to help someone change a tire on the side of the road. I work swing shift and get called in in the middle of the night. Stopping to grab coffee and smokes at a gas station at 1 in the morning feels less risky with my 1911 in my iwb holster. I am trained accurate and respectful of the responsibilities of carrying. You never know when that crazy tire iron carrying lunatic may come for you.

Man that's a scary situation I'm really glad it worked out ok for your son.

I had a guy try to attack me in on the road with a tire iron once, there wasn't much traffic so I could evade him each time he cut in front, hit the breaks and jumped out. I finally had enough when he nearly boxed me in, and VERY nearly manslaughtered the guy, but he jumped out of the way in time.

Id have been driving back and forth ramming every car in my vicinity trying to crush that guy your son dealt with, before he got to my window with the crow bar.

So really, your son being so well trained very well could have saved a life today

I think that if he was willing to bash the fender with a hunk of hard wood, is he willing to smash your window then wail on you're arm and shoulder ? Then you are trapped. I think him getting out where he had space sounded safer. At least you have room to move away outside.
Being slammed against the car, then body slammed on the side of the road sounds painful. He did say he did not punch the guy.
Sounds like he didn't need to.

Would not matter anyway. The boy would be justified even in shooting the man if risk of great bodily harm or death could result.
That is a myth. It is not automatic. It would be a legal nightmare. Even if there were no criminal charges, there could be a messy wrongful death suit. It really isn't advisable to shoot someone under any circumstances.

Not true necessarily. For instance in my state IF you are not convicted for the shoot, then they can not make a civil suit, period.

Any circumstance? It is better than dying. And in my state it is not a myth sir as it is not in most. Yes there could be a legal battle, but civil suits can only take so much from you. If someone comes at you with a weighted billy club you can shoot them. 1 whack to the head and you could be dead. In many instances a tire beater is as or more deadly than the average person with a gun.

Clubs, hammers and other blunt instruments are used in far, far more murders every year than so-called "assault weapons." Absolutely they're deadly force.

Not sure if that's a tire iron or one of those short clubs truckers use to check their tires. Those are bad little dudes.
Its the hardwood tire thumper truckers use to check tires.
