Just got DENIED for a vanity plate... RANT

WTF??????

So i sent in "HEL GTRS" for a vanity plate....

makes sence being that my business is Huss Electric Lutherie..

I get a freakin DENIAL letter in the mail with NO EXPLINATION what so ever, just what appears to be an old womans scrawly handwriting in red "DENIED" over the part were you put your desired plate letters...

I know you cant have profanity....

but HEL isn't even HELL..

and SECOND....

if it WERE... then how in the HELL do they allow plates that have the letters "GOD" in them.. I may find THAT offensive (and kinda do actually)..

I am about to go on a freakin crusade against the Pennsylvania Department of transportation....

I Called them and the person said to send a copy of my business license in and it would likely go through..

If it DOES NOT go trough.... PennDOT is going to start getting some really bad press....

after working on government for hte past 15 years... some of it hob-nobbing with important people (or at least those who think their important) i KNOW how to cause a stir and who's chains to pull..

of somone is allowed to put GOD on their license plate.... i see one every morning... then I damn well be able to have the letters H E and L.

If you think I wont make a giant crapstorm and even file legal paperwork over this issue... your wrong....

I had a co-worker with a Mazda RX-7 that was constantly being pulled over for questionable reasons. His license plate was RXHEVEN (as in RX-7) but the police had apparently taken it as "Rx (prescription) Heaven" and thought he was some sort of ballsy drug dealer. It was finally explained to him by one of the officers that pulled him over that they had been keeping an eye on him.


I think my favorite ever is: I495SUX

If you've ever driven on the DC Beltway, you'd agree. It does suck.

Next time I have to register, I want to get "PAF GUY"

I had a 1965 Buick Skylark Gran Sport and I got by with GSPOT by saying it meant "Gran Sport Performance On (the) Track. But really my Hurst shifter really hit the Gspot as it vibrated while idling.

I also had a pink Buick Wildcat and got by with P PANTER.. I LOVE sexual double entendres.

my whole point here is that there was NO profanity on he plate...

NONE..

Becasue of some schmucks PERCEIVED notion that the plate was something about HELL it got denied...

you can say HELL on TV... you can read it in the newspapers...

there a restaraunt called WINGS from HELL here in PA....

if i DID want HELL... with TWO L's... there's still no reason for them to deny it..... thats getting into seperation of church and state and freedom of religion and THAT is the exact angle I'm going to take...

i will take pictures of EVERY license plate i see referring to GOD and submit that at evidents that I am being descriminated on base on religious preference. (meaning theirs)

I dont know why.. but this has REALLY struck a nerve with me....

The definition of Profane is anything that is not sacred. So, one should not speak of the profane while in church, meaning: do not talk about personal or mundane matters, "what shall we have for lunch?" "I wonder if my car needs its oil changed" while worshipping God.

Profane does not mean "dirty" "sexual" or "pornography" it means that which is not sacred. So, if you personal plate is not about the worship of God, it is profane!

Getting that out of the way. Hell, in the right context, would not be profane at all.

And, now getting to the more "accepted" meaning of profane. Hell barely qualifies. Hell is not a "bad" word in itself.

my vanity plate for my 350z is 'xta z'. i've been pulled over for speeding, but the license plate has never been brought up. honestly, i never even thought of the drug ecstasy reference until someone brought it up...

nope.. there are seven digits and a space in PA..

And i pluged it into the "plate fiinder" on the website, and its "availalbe"..

as long as some god fearing old bat doesnt get hte paperwork i guess
