Hi all, so I finally got my 70's SG. I love the slim neck and crazy wide low frets.
The only real problem is the kid who had it before me cleaned it with an SOS pad! Major nasty swirl marks.
Oh well, still plays and sounds great.
I would like to put a pickguard on it, but I don't want to pay a fortune for an original. I did search around, but am not sure what will fit. It needs 5 screws (Strangely enough, the screws were still there)

I did find this place, but mine is a '72 so I don't know whether or not to get a '70 or '74

Cheers

Thanks, I looked at those, but the 5 hole models look to be one ply and are listed as pre-1970. I don't know if they changed from 1970-1974

Have you looked at Pickguardian? I've heard good things about their custom pickguards.

I believe the what you want is a five hole bwbw

I broke down and paid 70$ for an original. it looks great, holes matched up perfect.
It now looks like an SG standard.
