I got a deal on a used WCR American Steele set from a fellow forum member. They are going in my SG Standard, replacing the stock 498T/490R. I already have an RS modern kit in the guitar. I'm excited to get these pickups...I've heard nothing but good things about WCR pickups. Anyone else have experience with this set? :dude:

I just put a Darkburst in the bridge and a Crossroads in the neck of my LP. I absolutely love the way these pickups sound, and I have a feeling your are going to love yours. I am about to get a crossroads set for my SG :dude: Jim is a great person to deal with too and his turn around is amazing. I had my set in three days!!! I hear the Godwood bridge is a great pickup. Enjoy!

I recently purchased a set off a forum member as well and now have them installed in a LP Standard. They sound fantastic!!! I don't know how they will sound in a SG, but they should be a huge improvement over the stock pickups. I'm sure you will enjoy them.

I have now a goodwood set in my STD Lespaul they are amazing.
I was afraid the neck pup is too thick or bassy- no just right has also clean a open tone.
the leadsounds are juicy a huge tone and sustain forever.
I had the darkburst set in this axe but I sold the darkburst I don't know why ... I found I the set was not the real thing in there.
And before the set of Darkbursts I had a combo Duncan SethLover Neck and DarkBurst bridge Zebra - this was somehow better.
But for now Goodwood set wins hands down.
Where is the difference between Godwood and Goodwood just a wordgame
and when did Jim change it ... I cannot say exactly how old they are and what variation anyway does not matter
they are killer! crossroads neck or set I am interessted too.
have fun

I've had a set of Darkbursts in my R8 since 03, they're never leaving that guitar.

Thanks guys. I had emailed Jim and told him I wanted a versatile set for my SG...a "jack of all trades" type of set. Something that could do classic rock as well as modern hard rock sounds. Also something that would work in an SG in general (it seems SG's can be kinda tricky when making pickup changes). He recommended the American Steele set...which I guess is a Crossroads neck with a Godwood bridge. I'll let you know the results once I get them installed. :jam:

Did you ever get them installed in your SG yet? I'm very curious how they sound in an SG. Thanks!
