Mine lasted from 1993 to 2005 (drinking and depression) but somehow I still managed to do several albums.

I fight depression every day, it's a bad thing..

It seems like the music industry is a haven for that sort of thing, wonder why? Is it just the drudge the industry boss's put on the artists to do things their way and never having the musical freedom they reall want and need? Thats my take on it anyway.... Probably wrong but IMO that seems logical.

I was offered a deal like that and I told them to shove it !

It's always a rotten deal and you'll never really blend with the band.

Remember Waddy Wachtel ? ( Fleetwood Mac )

Steve Perry is the voice of Journey. Period. They just want a guy who will do what they say and sound just like Steve Perry, at a fraction of the cost.
Isn't that the ENTIRE point of the Asian labour force?

zing! :D

I saw journey with Jeff Scott Soto, that guy was better than that Steve Adarie, but is no Steve Perry, and is better than this new guy. Robert Fleischman is the guy that sang on Vinnie's first CD. I think Vinnie lost it when his wife came up missing & dead. I did see a recent siting of Vinnie at a convention, he put the make up.

Wasn't that his drummer who's wife was murdered??

wow this is very much like a movie i just watched todays ago, it was called rock star and had mark wehlberg, jennifer aniston and good old zakk wylde. Its the with the video, instead of being on youtube (set back in the 80's) 2 friends that were groupies of this band(steel dragon) shot a vid and handed it to the band members and was casted, a very good movie, suggesting everyone to watch it!

That movie is a direct take-off of the Judas Priest story. There's a vocalist that lives in my town, named Tim 'Ripper' Owens. He was in a Priest tribute band called British Steel. After Halford left the band, his girlfriend mailed one of Priests band members a video of Tim singing Priest tunes. They loved it, and ultimately hired him.

Tim is a great guy, and has an incredible voice.

Even though a lot of people will compare him to Steve Perry, I'm glad the guy made it. He was pushing carts selling scrap metal and sleeping in park benches because of how poor he was at one point. I'm really happy he got it. Also, it is true that there are a lot of amazing cover bands and musicians in general in the Philippines. Just not much exposure.
