Hey all,

So I got some tickets to see Satch in March!! I am so excited because he is going to play some songs from his latest album, Shockwave Supernova :D.

Looking forward to this; didn't get any VIP tickets or anything..I'm just going to pray that I stumble into him..highly unlikely but what the heck right.

Anyone been to any of his concerts previous years (not just this one?). So excited to see him and his guitar.

I've seen him six times from '87 to '99. That's enough for me.

Enjoy yourself. :thumb:

I saw him in Seattle a few years back, with Eric Johnson openning. The crowd was filled with guitar players and bored-to-death wives & girlfriends. To say EJ had a better live tone is an understatement. Still, Joe shreds his ass off. Glad I got to see him. Don't care for his Chickenfoot stuff.

I'm going to see him March 25 in Richmond. Where are you seeing him?

Saw him once, very impressed. He does a great job rendering his sprawling studio work into stripped down, tight live performances, which you already know if you have his live recordings or have come across bootlegs.

The best part of that show for me (as a player) was Flying in a Blue Dream. As he started the first measure of the theme, it was clear that something was wrong. By the end of the phrase, he had identified a string that had gone out during the vibrato bar feedback intro (the B, IIRC), and fretted differently to compensate. Maybe three sour notes, diagnosed and adjusted, swapped the guitar at the end of the tune, maybe 100 people in the stadium noticed anything.

Enjoy the show! I saw him at the Fillmore in San Francisco in the early 2000's and he put on a great show. It was truly amazing how incredibly effortless he made every single thing that he played seem. You are in for a treat if you like his music :cheers2:

Saw him a couple years ago. It was good but he stood out of view for most of the show which was a real shame. Next time he swings by I'm going and this time I'm buying some bloody good tickets!

I was praying I DIDN'T stumble into him.. I'd have probably yelped then fainted. :laugh2:

I wasn't paid but handed a ticket :thumb: My sister & her boyfriend got tickets and decided to drag me along. I said you should've gotten tickets for the "Experience Hendrix" show (I'm a big blues fan & not a shredder)...they said "we did" now I'm not complaining but :hmm:

So which did you prefer? I know I can't play like Satch, and while I can appreciate the talent, it bores me after about 10 min..

I think it was put well by another poster....I can see the audience being full of shred fans/musicians, and bored wives/girlfriends.

On the plus side for the OP, that means smaller venues and opportunities for better tickets. Not a bad thing at all if you are a fan! :dude:

Oh, that Joe Satch.

I was gonna say, if you got tickets for that Joe Satch, you'd get a lot of promises, boasting, tales of hands faster than the eye can track..

..So fast in fact, there would be no viewable performance.

I prefer the Hendrix show but they bought me a ticket and surprised me saying hey we got you a ticket so I'm not complaining. I didn't even know they were getting tickets for anything. We'll have a great time and I'm sure he'll be fantastic but look at the line up for the Hendrix show.
