God I love this guitar. It looks so great, the history's pretty cool too. I also heard that between Perry and Slash, Eric Johnson may have owned it. Not sure on that though.

I think this is the one Slash bought that belonged to Joe Perry for $8,000 in 1990...

Yep. It's a sexy guitar. And for me the history of both Perry and Slash having owned it, and maybe Eric Johnson just makes it that much better.
The wear on it looks great too. I love how the scratch around the knob is from Perry's ring.

Yea, Perry wanted to get it back but Slash didn't want to sell it and kept dodging attempts of Perry's to buy it back but then gave it to Perry as a bday present a few years ago.

That was a real nice gesture on slash's part; he could've sold it for a mint or just kept it for himself - he obviously decided that the guitar was destined to belong to Joe

huh? what makes you think the OP(or someone who posted here) owns that burst? as stated already Slash bought it, Perry wants it it back, Slash initially refused but eventually gave it back as a bday present to Perry. so Perry has it right now.

Too much liability, if i owned that i could only play it at the bank, cause it would be sitting in a vault somewhere.

The ultimate for me would be a 58', 59' or 60' burst.:wow:But again too much liability, would rather have a couple more Les Paul Classic's.:dude:

You bumped a two year old thread just to say that?
I see you're new here...

Also in regards to a replica take a look at these:

http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/search/view_listing.cfm?prodId=11379

A few Murphy aged replicas were made in the mid-2000's, however these are now rare and fetch a rather high premium when they are sold.

Haha, just looked at the date.
Were these a special guitar center run?
When did they make these?
