I don't blame him for not wanting to bring his #1. Guitar is awfully valuable (sentimentally more than $) to bring all the way to Cleveland for 5 minutes on stage max...especially since he was playing more backup rhythm than lead.
With a guitar collection of 1400+ who knows where the white custom came from? That's an enormous amount of guitars never seen on stage. I've never seen it before...maybe he picked it up in Cleveland just for the show? Anything's possible...

If I had to guess, I am betting it went like this:

Gibson said something like this...

"Oh, you're playing your Fender XII for Beck's induction are you? Well here, play this for the jam"

and they handed Jimmy a brand-new custom.
