Vibe is my favorite effect. I highly recommend any by Foxrox with my favorite being the latest incarnation - the Aquavibe1. Dave Fox reverse engineered an original and started making them a very long time ago. He's also a huge Hendrix fan.

Jimi used this:

There's tons of vibe clones out there but this Dunlop is the closest I've heard to Jimi's:

I use a Rotovibe for that Leslie rotating speaker effect:

His might have been branded "Univox" but it was still made by Shin-ei.

It was branded Univox in the US... Shin-ei everywhere else. I dont think Shin-ei would fly in the States back them :naughty:

I recently got a Picklevibe by Lovepedal. It's not a Univibe clone, but can get those sounds and takes up 1/6 of the space on the pedal board. It's a killer pedal. As far as getting the real deal Hendrix vibe thing going on, you'd need to drop about 400-500 on the Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe. However, as I & veryone else has pointed out, you can't get amazingly close with other, far cheaper options.

Just spend $50 and give the Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe a go...I was in love with Jimi's Vibe on Machine Gun and looked through every vibe that wasn't $200+....the Cool Cat Vibe hangs with them all :)

There are plenty of less expensive alternatives out there. Just try a few out. A vintage Univox/Shin-ei univibe are extremely expensive and not that easy to come by.

I can only speak to the Dunlop model because thats the one I have and I like it. I have an older one but have heard that some have had some issues with some of the newer models.

Plenty of companies make them and some say they use the same circuitry as the original.

My Digitech EX-7 does a very nice Uni-Vibe. IMO its a very underrated pedal. I'd never sell it
