That Sucks :dunno:

Jim Carrey has left the "Dumb & Dumber" sequel after reportedly growing frustrated by continuous delays and lack of studio support for the film.

The funnyman's representative has confirmed his departure, telling news show "Entertainment Tonight" that the actor was "increasingly frustrated" by the lack of progress on the project and the lack of enthusiasm from movie bosses.

Without Jim Carey I would imagine this one going straight to DVD.

blessing in disguise, there should be no sequel made

What Dylan said. I love that movie - it is a comedy classic - and there's no way they're going to capture that same magic between Carrey and Daniels again.

Well, maybe some of it with the right writers:

I somewhat agree. Anchorman 2 with Will Ferrel is coming out.

If you had a choice between Anchorman 2 or the next Dumb and Dumber sequel...... It's not even close.

[comedic pretentiousness]

Good riddance.

The original is absolutely flawless and any attempt to expand on it is an insult to its comedic genius.

Jim Carrey walks away from 'Dumb and Dumber' sequel | Inside Movies | EW.com

So you’re saying there’s a chance…?
Actually, maybe not.
Jim Carrey has withdrawn from plans to reunite with Jeff Daniels and the Farrelly brothers for a sequel to their 1994 hit comedy, Dumb and Dumber. A spokesperson for the actor confirmed an Entertainment Tonight report that he’d grown “increasingly frustrated” by the lack of progress and enthusiasm from Warner Bros. and New Line. “I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer,” Carrey said in a statement. “After all it’s implied in the title.”
In April, while promoting The Three Stooges, the Farrellys had announced that the original cast would return for a sequel that would begin shooting this September.

I have to agree with the guys who say the sequel shouldn't be made.

The first one was that rare perfect gem, the same as "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective."

The sequel to that one was just a waste of money.

Thank God he dropped out.

Now I have even more reason to continue ignoring a film series about which calling it stupid would be high praise.

I like some of his stand up stuff, and some of the stuff he did before he became real popular.

But stuff like Ace Ventura and Dumb & Dumber never appealed to me that much.
