The only thing I don't like about the JCA20's, is that there is not enough Clean headroom for my taste. I like to be able to get some good volume out of my tube amp and still stay pretty clean. But, overall, on a budget... the JCA20 is a good amp, especially with the BFG Double Deuce mod and getting the brown sound.

I get a pretty good RAT tone from my HD. http://www.rj-zero.com/misc/guitars/soundclips/hdfatstratlayitdown_20120422.mp3

I've had the JCA2112rc for about 2 years now. Replaced the tubes with all JJs. Still loving it.
I also have a Classic 30 and here's my take on the difference...

C30 - I will only use the clean channel with pedals in front for dirt. I could never get the high gain sound I wanted to hear out of the dirty side alone, and cannot stand how the dirty side sounds with pedals. Clean with pedals is a useable combination.

JCA2112rc - For me, perfect as is. No pedals needed. Very wide range of sounds available. I do have a MI crunch box in front that stays OFF most of the time. I have it set for a very slight boost with almost no extra gain to add a little thickness to my neck pickup when I play slide.

I like to use my guitar volume to control the amount of dirt present. If I roll off to about 4 or 5, It cleans up somewhat. If it's not clean enough, I just pick lighter.
