Just saw this amazing picture of James Hetfield's bursts. This is from the Guitar Aficionado recent book titled: The Most Famous, Rare, and Valuable Guitars in the World.
There isn't much else in the book on Hetfield's collection. But this looks very enviable and matches his vintage car collection.

It would be so nice if james did a Billy Gibbons style book

I would love to know how many bursts he actually owns though

he seems like the kinda guy that would keep it private no matter who was asking

Great pic. I really like Hetfield and I think his right hand is one of the best in hard rock guitar music.

Beautiful guitars. His EMG's are pretty good too. :)

In response to the emg question :D
In truth they (him and kirk) both keep their vintage guitars pretty original. They have videos of them using bursts live and in honesty the PAF's through their rigs sound pretty decent.

They really need to ditch the Diezels and go back to Marshalls or at least Mesas. I like Death Magnetic and all, but not a fan of their current sound as much.
