The original series had some interesting non-humanoid aliens, like these:

I hate to correct you, but that's actually a picture of Simon and the Garfunkel from their early years. Back then they were known as Tom and Jerry. OMG look at Garfunkel's hair.

On Gilligan's Island during the intro they show one Minnow with a flying bridge and then they show it again and the bridge is gone. Just sit right back my ass!

Poseidon Adventure:
The scene where people are climbing the Christmas Tree---
The tree begins to fall, and the guy at the top screams, "Aaaaaaaah!" with his own Doppler effect.
That's just not how people scream when they fall. Hahahaha!

Happens at 1:43----

If the movie has a good plot I think we tend not to see the strings on the puppet, and, our suspension of disbelief becomes greater.

First Indiana Jones movie -
Indy is chasing the Germans so he hops onto the submarine and rides it a thousand miles to the cave. Don't tell me they stayed on the surface the whole way...

And what is this crap with musicians in movies?? NONE of them are actually playing - and they don't even TRY to look like they are really playing. Pisses me off and ruins my buzz every time..:wow::facepalm:

ah you guys are rookies. I will ruin movies for everyone forever. Lighting from underneath the subject(s). I takes me out of every film I have ever watched.

You may have no idea what I am talking about but the next film you watch will have a scene that is lit from nderneath the actor and now that I mentioned it you will notice it.

Unstoppable w/Denzel Washington. Don't get me started.

When the fat guy (Ethan Suplee ?) gets the whole thing started by getting off his moving locomotive to throw a switch then tries to run the whole way to the front to get on. There's a set of stairs on the back of the unit with a walkway that leads right to the cab.

Road units have alerters on them (dead man switches) that require you to make control movements or press a button every so often (usually less than a minute, if you don't do anything within about 2 minutes, the train goes into emergency and stops.

The entire premise of the movie is flawed.

My brother in law did this for a living.
Retired Art Director / Set Designer / Set Decorator.
It's actually pretty amazing how much effort the good ones put into making sure Dave isn't upset. Tons of research, tons of effort in locating the right stuff. His forte and the biggest block of his work was westerns and Civil War.

Every alien in Star Trek is humanoid.

And before you come in with justifications, yes I know about that episode.

You know about the next gen episode where picard, the romulans and another race i can't recall which, raced to find the remains of an old civilization that spread their genetic material all over the galaxy? thus making a particular form likely to be developed? :D

Actually there is are two really good reasons for that. The most important from the perspective of the writing, is that every race in those shows represents aspects of our own humanity.

Klingons for example, have philosophies that are much like the samurai or the sioux, with a little raging visigoth thrown in for good measure.

The ferengi represent a couple of humanity's more reprehensible qualities of greed and dishonesty.

And secondly, and more practically, the actors were human beings so the costumes had to fit :D They haven't found any alien actors yet hahahahah

:wow::wow::wow:

but ya you're right, too bad there wasn't more diversity in the alien species :)

I remember as a kid watching a "B" western where the hero forgot to take off his wristwatch . Then there was the six shooter that was more like a sixty shooter cause they never had to reload.

Dazed and confused.....there is a shot that has an orange first or second gen Camaro in the background, and its sporting third gen Camaro wheels which wouldn't have been made yet. Should've just put a freakin' Yugo all up in there...

In one Star Trek movie the elevator is lined with old style rubber carpet padding, and don't forget the American Tourister luggage!

This reminded me:

In the Arnold version of "Conan the Barbarian", we see the young Conan being spoken to in English by his father, who has no accent. He then goes through a bunch of changes while growing older and all, and nobody who speaks through those scenes has any sort of accent-- not even the handler who was his apparent master during his pit gladiator days.

But, the adult Conan has a noticeable German accent? :dunno:

--R :D

When his father is speaking it is in Cimmerian, but we, the viewers are hearing it so we can understand. Later they are all speaking Aquilonian, of which he speaks accented.

The many, many, many many movies, with firearms that have magazines, and revolving chambers with pocket universes apparently, as they fire much more than their capacity.
