Yeah, you've heard me gripe a time or two (or three..) about ridiculous things, observances, mistakes, etc in shows, series, movies..
You (the collective you) often say "it's only a movie, LT."
-And what am I supposed to do with that?
Not watch the movie? Not get involved? Watch the whole damn thing as if I were on the set with the lunch truck, costuming, makeup, Panavision cams on tracks, mics being shoved towards the action but out of camera-shot?
The point is, one is supposed to let the show take them away, out of reality, into the fantasy/story/etc. Get lost in it. Enjoy the diversion.
But when I see something glaringly obvious which is not supposed to be there, It knocks me right back to reality.
..only guy left on the planet, but there's a car driving on a distant road, waaaay out in the back. (Omega Man, Charlton Heston, 1971)
A western with power poles. (too many to count)
A middle-ages film with graded roads.
The obvious wrong-year car, close up. (Too many to count, but let's start with GoodFellas, Idyllwild Airport, 1963 it flashes on the screen. They are leaning against a 1965 Chevy)
List 'em here, the grievances.
Or, tell me to shut up and enjoy the movie, for crissake.
MLP, come at me bro.
