.Hey All , I got the new Replica yesterday , I would like to hear what you think of the Color that was used on the new guitar The first picture was used as the Example for the color I wanted . Please post your comments .

Example photo for Color

Oh , there’s some more of the figure !!!!

IMG_7321.jpg

Under Florescent lighting , Now it looks Brown . With the lower angle and different light
It looks like it should .

IMG_7125.jpg

If more pictures are wanted , I have more , just ask . What do you think about a Refin to get this to where it should of been in the first place ?

That’s all for now .I’d like to get opinions from what others feel about the color and if anyone has seen a Double Stained guitar look this weak. There is a ton of 3-D movement
And from what I understand that’s not what should happen in the Figure and Maybe an expert would chime in . I feel this guitar was not Painted correctly . I am considering putting it up for sale Very , Very soon .

i think its a fantastic looking guitar, but you already know what you want to do, you just have to do it.

Yes, it's more red than brown, unlike the photo you gave for reference.

More importantly, how does it PLAY?

If you really aren't happy with it, I would be interested in buying it from you for sure.

I think you have a stunning guitar on your hands.I have no idea what you are complaining about. If you told me it sounded bad you might get some sympathy. The color being one shade off, not so much

I like it....Although I can see that it is missing the dirty brown hues that might make it look aged.

Sweet player, Josh

***My Replica turned out a bit different than my stock photo. However, I couldnt imagine things any other way right now.***

I like it but it's nothing like the sample photo. I like the color on the sample photo myself.

Will it fade to brown later though? I thought alot of these stains change colour after being in the sunlight etc rather than starting out exactley as you want them

Exactly my first thought.

I bought a private custom made 5E3 Fender Deluxe replica earlier this year; the builder posted a diary of the build inc pics and parts to make sure we were both happy.

I'm guessing you bought it blind or at least from the pics posted here?

Yup , It needs a small amout of work. I was planning to change the pups as it has only some Basic SD's in it now . It needs new pickups . along with some other parts , but now I'will wait a bit. I will keep you in mind and ontop of the list if I do deside to sell it .

My point being , that when you have as many guitars as I do . It's not like I needed this guitar . It was a Custom order And In my mind color, would be the most basic of things you would want correctly done. It's not like I didn't tell the builder an number of times about the color issue . I did . Nothing was changed . Remember , I ordered this guitar to my specs . and it was made differently . Not much but this is the biggest issue I have . There are others that were not done correctly . these are not cheap to buy . And when you pay for something , you would like to get what you want . Yes ? that's why I brought up the issue of doing a refinish . Also double Staining would make the figure really pop on this guitar . and this 1 is all about the top. I wanted to see all the figure .
I like it but it's nothing like the sample photo. I like the color on the sample photo myself.
Thanks for chiming in , I'm looking for everyones thoughr about this.Truth be told I'm sick completely sick of Red guitars. I just can't stand them anymore. Which is why I wanted Brown . Yes I know you need Red to make brown but,I have to have something different.

From what I was told the Dyes that were used will fade slowly . I was told it has a Medium grade color fast in it . So I think this will not be much help in trying to get the color to where I want it . If the original type dyes had been used . It would be sitting in front of my window already . Thanks for the thought . I wish it was gonna happen like that. Cause than I would of posted NGD like it was normal LOL!!!!

He sent me a ton of photos , I posted many also.
No , I brought this to the attention of the builder and he more or less BS'ed me and did nothing to make it right . i did this with another issue (informed him) and it was ignored untill the guitar was completed . I posted a build thread , here in the forum . I was told that because of the camera , computer and such that the colors did not show up correctly . Well , My photos are what they are , the guitar is Red . and together with the lack of what i consider correct double Staining the figure can not be seen the way I had wanted . The concept behind this build was to do a guitar like Gibson had done in the Mid 90's . the Monster tops . This top is a great piece of Maple and I wanted to show it . I looked for months before I found it , which is why I'm considering a refin by someone else . Maybe HM as I'm in Fl.already

It is more red than brown...I can't see why it can't be faded to the correct colour for you. Nice guitar all the same though.

That sample photo is taken in much brighter sunlight and has the sun at an extreme angle to the guitar. We can't tell anything about color comparison from those photos.

I can see a big difference in color regardless of the lighting. Like I said it's a fine looking guitar but the color is nothing like the sample pic.

I'm with Gammybirds theory / advice. :thumb:I'd seriously try putting it out in the sun to fade before spending more?

The 'original' pic does look more brown, which I imagine yours will do too. Perhaps the builder left out the 'sun-bathing' before shipping?

It looks like for like with the red coverage and a great 'monster' top too!!:applause:

I like it alot:applause:, im sure it will fade to your expectations with some sun!!:fingersx:

Good luck!

Nice guitar ! It is not quite the one from the accoustic fellowship, but a very nice guitar anyway. May I ask who did deliver/manufacture it ?

Leave it in a sunbed for a few hours (that'll cost what, $40?)

If it's still red, get a Historic Makeover done to get it to your taste.
I guess you've put enough money into it to just keep going  :thumb:

I think the sample has more intense figure. If they are both double stained, it makes sense to me that the one with more figure would appear darker, all other things being equal.

...and it's not so far off. If the builder didn't use color fast dyes, than the red will fade.

I asked that in the 3rd post and it wasn't discussed
