And yet I'm reading this on a computer at my desk. In the office. At work. I guess it would be different if I were at home? It's somehow more productive for me to be fucking off all day on MLP if I'm actually in the office rather than at home? Oddly, I mostly post whore here from work. Way less when I'm at home. :laugh2:

Well....posting whores from home is a bad idea any way..... ;)

This thread was started on the wrong day.
It holds such potential for meltdown.
(I'll be back Friday - I've missed several).

I retired before covid but spend some of my time growing my pension by investing it from home.
I have a couch nearby, if that counts.
Still drive a lot as my car is fun and comfy and I wanna see and do stuff.
I also hold a lot of shares in BP, so I still profit when they're not all lying on the couch too.
Happy for f***ers to be off the road and lying on their couches though, so I can get around and do stuff.
I make my own income now.
I don't depend on what anyone else is doing.

Basically I'll make more money if ya do go back to yer offices, or life-dollars if ya don't.

My only beef with WFH is that it basically killed guitar playing for me these past couple years because our neighbor went WFH and NEVER left her apartment.. couldn’t even fart without getting a text from her, let alone play guitar or music on the stereo.. so fuckin’ annoying.. she finally moved out, and we’re moving to a house, looking forward to cranking it up again, in the garage!:headbanger:

… our neighbor went WFH and NEVER left her apartment..
FUCK living in a beehive.

I learned 35 years ago that I’m that guy you don’t want as a neighbor.

I will pound on their door to tell them to stop the stupid.

Tell them “I could commit a murder and make less noise than that” and walk away.

Which is precisely why I have never lived in an apartment since then.

Studied a little history all the way back to the Tower of Babel, and realized that humans treat each other rather poorly when crammed together.

You work from home though right? Do you have a work ethic?
I believe the clinical diagnosis is: Morally bankrupt and ethically challenged

Treatment options:
1) Return to Politics
2) find a Internet forum and explore your new found freedom from inhibition

I just left my last shit in the bathroom. You might want to let it air out a bit if you go in there looking for one.
Well, I wasn't necessarily looking to give a shit by proxy... they would be procured by yours truly. But still, I'll keep that in mind :laugh2:

You are a notorious fuck waster, and nobody on the interwebs likes a fuck waster. That's up there with being a #hashtagsquanderer.
@SteveC If you will allow me to be so bold as to respond to that one for you:

It is funny how people think about things.

Someone said to me, once, "You need a job!"

I replied, "I NEED to make money."

Working at a job is just one way to do that.

I have done plenty of "work" where I earned next to nothing.

There is no virtue in work for work's sake.

I do not get paid to "work" for 8 hours. I get paid to produce and complete tasks and solve problems.

I have encountered plenty who show up and put in their time, do nothing productive, and get paid for being on the clock.

When the Rona and WFH first started I set myself up in the second biggest bedroom in the house. My desk, books, my guitars & amps and my weights are all in one place. Was pretty nice. When my wife's company reopened the office she went in three days a week, and I got to sit in this fucking paradise for work, exercise and playing guitar. I was going nuttier than normal. Now I have a really nice dedicated work office on the other side of the house where it's just work. Looks nicer than any cube or office I've ever had and the coffee is better too. I did block off my lunch times so I can get to the gym, meet people for lunch, go to the gun range or go for an hour walk.
I'd like to go back to the office but after almost three years I've gotten used to not going, it's made me picky.

Freddy has done work for me. Totally top notch dude in every way. The question was rhetorical, he has demonstrated that he has a work ethic.

Just wanted to clarify - not trying to cast aspersions on Freddy's work, just perhaps his logic. :D

Kinda like Ted Kaczynski? ;)

Seriously, I’m not that far from you.

It’s ironic that my wife - the social butterfly - is now working from home.
And home is on 20 acres, several miles from a small town in west Texas ranch country.

I love it.
The gas plant I operate is literally in the middle of nowhere.
One other guy on my crew, no one else around on nights or weekends.
On my days off, I relish being able to just stay home.

I get plenty of human interaction without going to Walmart or the grocery store - like my wife is so eager to do.
I'm the opposite. Friday hits and I'm ready to get the hell out. And in the past vacations used to be just relaxing, now it's find where the people are, drink, have fun, get to bed by 10pm.

Statistics strongly point to increased productivity by WFH employees. I think a lot of the managers that don't agree are probably upset because they have lost a good deal of their 'power', control, and worth and are feeling diminished. Fuck them.

My wife has worked from home for almost eleven years now and I can't tell you how many times she has started early, worked late, and worked through her lunch.
