I have a company supplied Thinsulate vest that I wear occasionally as protection from wind or cold.
It's not for fashion, as I wear it underneath a jacket. And it is most certainly not fleece :laugh2:

Yeah, it never occurred to be that the fleece vest was anything but an incomplete (it's a vest) keep you warm kinda garment.
Certainly not a statement piece.

Kind of good news, some kids actually want jobs where they do things besides stare at a screen.

Saw that this morning. One takeaway for me was, the little fuckers don't feel that they need a degree to earn big money any longer (more entitlement). But, I'll avoid a rant on that rathole.

I will say this though: While I always hired people, not backgrounds and resumes, there is something to be said for the person who made an investment in their education and their skills. So, I would pay college grads more money, than I would pay non-grads.

The good news I see in that article is that more kids are gravitating to the Trades. That's good for them and good for everyone. We have a shortage of tradesmen around here. Seeing that industry grow is promising.

It's a mixed bag in my field. I've worked with guys who were self taught and some of them were always on the cutting edge. In a way, too smart for college, but still driven to excel. Also some top guys with Associate degrees who were really solid. Then I've been assigned to mentor some kids who went to good schools but must have spent their class time nursing hangovers because they were clueless to what the job was.

We had a guys poker night, all tech heads except for Bill the Plumber. The guy made more money than any of us and had the best stories.

OK, these aren’t investment strategists I’m seeing.
A whole different demographic.
But an even sillier wardrobe trend.

Hoodies, with the sleeves cut out.
Not cut short.
Cut completely out of the hoodie, leaving big holes to expose the torso - and all those tats.

But it’s still thick material and a hood.

What the hell is that?

Just wear a wife-beater t-shirt and be done with it.

trades. one of "our" collective 4 kids wasn't going to ever be a college kid. i got him into a trade, after 4 years of not paying tuition/books/board/food, he's making more than most 4 year graduates that actually find good jobs.

except he has zero debt. couldn't agree with you more. trades are in dire need of young workers.

Yea, I fear it'll get much worse before it gets better - if it ever does get better.
