But the Epi still gets a lot of play time, it's just a different beast.

...I guess they're both my favorites, it just depends on what I'm in the mood for that dictates which one I'll pick up at that particular moment.

If cash value is the deciding factor, then no, probably not....

My '13 R8 is the most expensive guitar I own, but depending on what day you ask my PRS Custom 24 is most likely my favorite with the R8 coming in very close second....

They're like neck and neck, but if I HAD to choose one and only one, it'd be the PRS.

Gawd, I dunno..... I paid almost exactly 4x as much for my new 08 Std as I did for my used 96 Anniversary Strat (good deal from a friend 15+ yrs ago). I can't tell you which one I like more. Depends on which one I haven't played that day, I guess. Add my wife's Heritage H535 to the mix and I really can't pick one, unless I get to cheat and just say my '94 Gibson J-30. It's what I'll grab from the burning house, after the wife and kids, and it still cost less than half of the LP.
I decided many years ago that I'd only buy "keepers", and I've done very well. I'm one or two guitars away from being done for life. An SG with P90's and a bigsby, and a Tele, probably also with a Bigsby. No rush, though.

Best = R9

Favorite = B7

Why? = the B7 approximates (i.e., feels, sounds, looks) my all time favorite/best guitar from back in the day, an early '70s LPC

depends how you define " best " my favourite guitar is my best guitar, because its the one that gets played the most, although its not the most valuable

^^^^^This....

I have owned several Custom Shop Historic RI's, 4 PRS Custom 24's, a shit load of standard LP's, and Fenders over the years. I've even had about a dozen Partscasters I've built and enjoyed.

No matter how much $$ I have tied up in a guitar. I generally have a favorite that I play daily.

Best does not mean most expensive, or highest quality.

To me, it is what plays best at the moment.

Is that "officially" yours now or is it still on loan? In either case, VERY nice! :thumb:

@So what

yeah...that was the joke. :laugh2:

The toggle switch is a tone knob bypass or something. :)

KTM yes it's mine. The loan was a ruse.

I hope the Universe rewards him in an equal way for his kindness.

KTM yes it's mine. The loan was a ruse because he knew enough about me to know I'm a prideful mofo that wouldn't accept an act of charity.

Nice guy,..class act. :)
Why would anyone want to bypass tone? :D

I was just drooling over this earlier today in the build thread. That is one very beautiful guitar!

That thing is killer! I just saw a similar idea in a Tele today on BMF Effects FB page. It only had a bridge pup, and the switch had different tone caps in it, I think. I don't know if it's like a Varitone switch or what, but for a single pup, it seems pretty useful.
