Hello!
I recently come across this Gibson pickups. Seller send me some photos.
PAT number is 2 737 842 , and I can clearly see T mark on the uncovered pickup. Rest is unknown to me, so I need some help identify it.

1. Is this genuin T-top pickup?
2. Some other info, like condition and year, has someone tempered with pickup etc..
3. What would be suggested priced for these two pickups? :hmm:

I'm wondering if those two are better sounding then recent BURSTBUCKERS (Alnico II) or 57' classic..

Thnx for any help & input :fingersx:

Certainly looks like a T-top with sticker, which would make it pre-1975.

The legs have obviously been messed with big time.

real deal, although I would need to see a meter reading on it to know if they should work properly....if you, you are in luck.

Hard to beat T-Tops in my opinion.

Looks like T-Tops, sure enough, and yea the sticker is in the dater range pmonk suggested. I've seen them go for as little as $125 each to $300 depending on condition. I really Really love my t-tops.

As far as better, it depends on the sound you are after. They have a more focused sound, somewhat tinnier, and the extra focus makes them great for higher gain situations. Snarly in the bridge and somewhat plinky in the neck. All that though depends on the guitar they are in.

Some guy in my hometown was selling a set of T-tops a while back. I was really hoping to put them in my SG until he told me the price - $320. Still, if I had the $ at the time, I might have.

T-tops rock.

Yes, T top. But cant see the T on second bobbin. Maybe cause i'm old. Should read out at 7.45K, give or take a few ohms.
Mounting legs were flattened for another mounting application apparently.

Nothing better. Unless its a real PAF.

Good luck.

Yes, regular pre 1975 T-Top. Great pickups, very articulate, punchy and great for oldschool rock and hardrock. :dude:
