Just a seller trolling his wares. Been going on forever. Its definitely a nice guitar. I used to pull those off the wall and play them at Vintage World in Cranston, RI.

It got my curiosity.
I have a 1999 R9. Bought it for $3,500. Didn't come with a certificate.
If I had a certificate it may easily be worth $16,000 more!:eek2:

Maybe his wife told him to sell it.

It has a sickly fret board

That one isn't worth as much because it doesn't have the COA. All the toneaz be in the COA.

Haha that's a good one :) So it's not in the pickguard, as someone wrote on this forum recently (forgot his (or her) name).

There was a time when these (99) were getting very high dollar depending upon a designation (stamp) inside the electronic cavity. I believe it was K9 or Killer Top or something of the like. If memory serves me correctly, I believe some sold in the 10-12K range. I have a "regular" 99 R9 with the basic R9 stamp so no big $ for me. To my understanding regular R9s did no come with a certificate.

He does say at the end of the listing, "you're certainly welcome, [sic] to make a reasonable offer."
Might be worth 20 large to somebody...
