Damn. This is getting lame.

So I saved them back to my phone. By my count you guys are stil 4 pics short but I can't tell from my perspective. They all show up for me.

25/50? Next to a Gretsch re-set.

What else is missing?
*edit - I imagine it's the images pulled from imgur. I thought as soon as I fixed my settings they'd show up. I was wrong.

Here is the raw kit images when I got it.

Forgot I had a thread over here.
Here it is with the Stewmac vintage gold & 2 passes of nitro.

Hey, glad you updated this one.....as I think I might have looked in on it earlier given I had a somewhat similar build that was in the process of completion (pics below!!).

From the shots its looking great!!
Just look over your gold coats and make sure that its all looking level and hasn't shrunk down......you'll very quickly spot any flaws with gold. Its easy enough to level sand and then shoot another pass over the top before you get too many clear coats on top.

Yours so far looks very much like the more modern Gibson goldtop - the brown tinged one (although lighting makes a huge difference with gold). You might have to look at some ambered clear if you want to achieve the more vintage tinted gold.

Thanks for the input. Sadly this got away from me a bit & did just that.

I left it at my friends shop for a bit too long & he continued it without me. I wanted to do a little more prep on the top & some errant glue from the manufacturer.

I'd planned on putting down something a little thicker than lacquer as a sealer before spraying gold. I can see grain already thru the gold.

I'll get his input on it. He might have a plan.

The back looks fantastic though.

Nice work on yours! Thread?

No thread for mine.......I did a couple of detailed build threads a couple of years back now, but whether its the LH factor or something else - well I tend to get the same amount of interest for a whole thread that others get just for saying they're contemplating a build.:sadwave:

As to the grain.....you can't do better than gold for showing up flaws. A full level sanding so you can see zero pits or shiny (untouched by sandpaper) areas and you will most likely have got the worst of it out. In mine (despite doing just that step) I can still see issues if I look with my OCD eyes in the right light.
This is the back anyhow.....
