If you're connected to the Internet in anyway, you are actively being spied on by the big tech companies (among other actors as well, I'm sure). Even if you're not registered or an active user on FB, Amazon, Google products, etc., they are collecting data on you. In all honesty, their Board of Directors are more interested in people who aren't on their apps than those who are. After all, you're the potential 'new customer.'
It's sad and very disturbing, but it is our reality now. Even though there may not be a monetary fee, these sites aren't 'free' to use - our data is way more valuable to them than a monthly subscription.
