Hard to tell, hearing it through the dinky-ass little speakers in my laptop...

He doesn't list what effects pedals he's using, but that's probably part of the reason for the tone, and maybe turned his mids way down...

Who knows...maybe send him a message on Youtube. I'm sure he'd tell ya.

According to the Description it's 2000 Les Paul Classic.

I just posted a question asking him if it's stock or has coil tapping.

.. you can make a guitar sound like a banjo if you use the right efx ..

.. heck some crappy camera mics + crappy comp speakers make a guitar sound like a crappy banjo ..

Way too top heavy.

I don't understand why its so hard to learn that one cannot accurately determine a tone of a guitar when running through too many effects, gets overly EQ'd by deaf people in the mixdown and then compressed down and uploaded to YouTube :)

I think it is probably just the eq settings that are behind the tone on this. After all, they can make a telecaster sound deep and smooth and even the fattest Les Paul sound spikey and shrill.

The word 'tone' in the electric world, is used often used so earnestly while implying the woods etc are the main factor in the sound coming out of the speaker. Yet it is an electric guitar for a reason - and the amp, controls on the guitar and other things such as an EQ pedal are the so often unsung heroes in what are ears appreciate.
