Plain and solid colors for me, I'm not paying attention to the top when I'm playing. :)

There's something about flame tops on double cuts that just seems to fit. Not as much so on single cuts for some reason - maybe it's the asymmetry? Hard, well matched flames just seem more striking and beautiful on a PRS or Strat style guitar where as plain tops with light figuring seem more fitting on LP's and Tele's. But that's just me :hmm:

I like flames more than quilt, but since PRS came along and cheap laminate tops, it's kind of taken the air out of it all for me. Not as "special" anymore

I'm not a fan of the plain.
Gotta be flamed. I like unique, irregular ribbon flame with a nice flowing flatsawn grain.
