Is BBpro bridge pup supposed to be weak and thin compared to the BBP neck pup??

I've really enjoyed my recently acquired studio mahogany, and I love the burstbucker pro in the neck, its loud/clear and very full, the bridge not so much, even with the bridge pup as close as I can get it to the strings and still be playable and the neck pup dropped almost flush with the ring, the neck has much more oomph to it, and the bridge is just thin, its pirecing but no depth to its sound. For example in the mid position, theres barely any perceptible change in tone from mid to neck, huge difference to the bridge though and not in a good way, so far the only useful application for the bridge pup is super high distortion with the tone dialed down about 60%...on full its really hairy.

On my old epi LP I used a BBpro neck and 500T bridge...and for what I wanted at the time it was a great fit, especially in the mid position. Is this normal for BB pros or do I perhaps have a bum pup? Any reccomendations to complement the BBpro in the neck? I want something warmer and "fuller"...naturally I dont want it to sound the same as the neck but I'm not happy with the Barry White neck and a castrated Alvin from the chipmunks bridge pup....need something thats a better balance and complement to the neck pup.

I think you have some faulty electronics. I have the same model and no issues.

I suggest you take it back if its under guarantee or find a Tech to check out the issue. Your description is a million miles away form what you your should expect.

All the best

Try lowering the bridge pup. Many complaints of 'thin sound' are solved by simply lowering it.

Its used and traded for it, pickups are easily replaced so not a big deal. Something to think about while Last is giving her a makeover.

I dropped both pups before I even plugged it in , they were both literally touch the stings if I drop it its not as thin and hairy, but way to quiet compared to the neck. When I made the trade I just gave it a good once over to check the neck and see how she felt thinking of either a P rails in the bridge or a pearly gates, got a PG in my warrior so probably the P rails

The difference between the pups inst that notcable with my lil peavy vyper....but in my USA made Palomino....its night and last monday...

Thats odd....was playing around with the pole pieces and heard a slight "pop"...still aint near 100% happy with it but there is some noticeable improvment.

Well I'll be damned...it was the second pole that popped...on the 5'th, it wouldnt budge, it stiffly went downward, brought down flush then worked it up till it locked 3 or 4 times and then it felt like breaking through something...no audible noise from the pickup but output jumped instantly to a whole lot closer to where it ought to be.....I've had many many pickups and this is an absolute first...anyone had similr experience?
