Read the entire thread. The CEO of Epiphone says it DOES have a veneer.

Fixed it for you :D

Hi Peter,

The Maple Tops on the Tributes are 3-piece. (I don't know of any Maple caps that are 1-piece?) The Maple Cap is as thick as a Gibson's. There is book-matched veneer on the top because essentially, the one seam down the center is what looks traditionally correct and is preferred.

Thanks,
Jim Epi

I got this answer from Jim Rosenberg, Epi CEO....

this was posted in August 2010 by the Epi-CEO himself in the 4Henry forum

Mustang I amplifier, straight into the computer.

I'd post a link to my review/demo, but I already posted the JB review in this thread and am not trying to be a "look at me" whore. :D :thumb:

Thank you guys for all the comments, it's hard to find an Elitist around, so I may order a JBGT. Or maybe buy both in order to compare by myself :D

Does anybody know if ebay seller "guitarczar" is a good serious seller? They have a Tak M Elitist online now.

I would not hesitate to bid on it. The seller is top rated at 100% with almost 2000 feedbacks. I would say that is pretty reliable. But you have to make that decision on your own. Read through the members feedback to get a feel to see if you would trust the seller or not. Nice guitar if you can get it though.

the people that own or love Elitists will say, "no"
the people that love and own the JBGT will say, "yes"

I'll say, "maybe."

There's literally just nothing wrong with mine. It's a perfect guitar even down to the fretwork. Best stock Epi I've ever owned. I'm sure some will say there's no comparing anything to an Elitist except a Gibson,...but I can't see how the JB could be better.

I'd like to upgrade the pots at some point, but the stock ones aren't bad. Out of four electric guitars (at the moment) it's the only one I haven't changed anything on except strings.

I have zero complaints, it's a hell of a great guitar.

I would concur with this ...

FYI...if someone is looking for an EPI Bonamassa, Sweetwater has a demo model on sale right now. It looks like it comes with the case and all the goodies. It's probably indistinguishable from brand new, and will save you a few bucks. Who knows, maybe they'll even knock a few more $ if you call??? Just passing this along.

"Epiphone Qingdao would beg to differ. They are under the impression that they are the 'new elitist'. I know those Tribute 'F' serial #'s aren't Fuji, unless they are in China as well...which I doubt. "

They are under the wrong impression. The first thing they need to do is head to Terada and learn how to apply Poly thinly.
