Is a new Les Paul Classic worth $2K?

As one of our Resident Classic experts, and certainly the Blingiest of the Blingsters, how do you feel that the new Classics compare to the first batches?

First batch(90s) was dang near re-issue level of greatness…
The ones starting around 2000, for a myriad of reasons, have always been really easy for me to play…
When I go to a guitar store I don’t even pick up a classic because Ill end up buying it and I can’t afford 300 classics LOL
They just get it right in my opinion year in and year out..can’t say why but they are my favorites and it’s not even close

like the axcess for u, they just fit my style
well, after i add a bigsby(which adds more than a pound which I love)
and a 3rd pup if need be ha

I have a 2017 Classic Plus in HCS.

Came with the 57 and 57+ pickups. Weighs in at approx. eight and a half lbs.

New, at Zzounds it was right around $1600.

Love the guitar, and everyone that has played it, including the local luthier, love it.

When I first purchased it took it to my guy for a "look over", in his own words.

"What more could you want in a modern LP?"

He's right, plays superb, looks great, and didn't break my bank.

IMO, which is kinda worthless, it's a good deal.

I have a 2017 Classic Plus in HCS.

Great year for the Classic. Only year with the factory-installed nylon nut.

I went up to Sam Ash today to try some LPs. Man, I'm loving the Classic! I just wish it came with a more brown burst finish. The Tribute was good. I liked the satin neck, but again, to me, not a proper LP. The Standard was heavy as hell, but I loved its finish.

My only issue with the Classic was that it wouldn't stay in tune.
