This is awesome! I didn't even realize that this was a thing until I saw this thread. I just checked my 79 Standard, and it looks like Randy Leonard did final assembly on mine...
the initials RL in the 1978 truss rod stand for Randy Leonard who was one of pair of father and son who worked

for gibson I think the fathers name was Floyd Leonard I think not 100% sure but sure RL stands for Randy Leonard
supposedly they initialed the best guitars they worked on. truss rod cavity and control cavity not sure if they worked in
Nashville or Kalamazoo
