Hi all,

What am I missing? I thought R0 always come with reflector knobs. I got mine with standard knobs (2018 R0, standard 0 8 ### serial number) . also the neck feels a little fatter than the other 2018 R0 I have. here is a pic. so what's the deal?

Maybe you purchased one thing and received something else?

serial is correct for R0, otherwise you might have been right:) that is what confuses me

I have mentioned this in another thread about R0s..... The original 1960 Standard evolved over that model year.... early models were more ‘59ish with the normal gold top hats.... through the year the neck became much thinner with reflector knobs with various shades of sunburst... to a more tomato soup than cherry red.

The Custom Shop has produced Historic 1960 Standard reissues that reflect those changes for specific retailers.

Ahhh I see! that clears things up, thank you very much for that update,

So I am wondering, what is the difference (if there is any) between early "59ish" R0 and the R9, neck feels identical to that of an R9 (reissue obviously)

Other than a serial number not much.... though I think that the early version R0 neck has a bit less shoulder than a R9 making it feel a little thinner. The other difference is they may have nicer flame tops (more 59ish) than regular R0s.... I haven’t really seen enough R0s to tell....

Your’s looks spectacular

I like them such that I put them on my Deluxe and Trad, plus the reflectors identify your guitar as an R0.

Great info from @mudface

Nice looking R0! These are generally my favorite of the Reissues.
