IF its going to be made a sticky, take all the links you have and make a new thread with all the links...... then having this one deleted. ;)

 I didn't make the cut... :dunno:
You've got to finish it first! ;) Like I've said, I want the threads here to be complete thoughts. I'm looking forward to adding several build threads which are nearing the completed stage but haven't quite crossed over yet. Besides, this list is by no means all inclusive. There are simply too many excellent projects on this forum to collect them all!

Great thread, thanks! :applause: I see just about all the "classics".

I'm pretty sure all of the threads that got me wanting to try a build are already listed but I'll let you know if I think of more. Definitely a few from TDPRI that were crucial for me but it looks like you're sticking to MLP.

Not to toot my own horn, but we cannot forget this gem.

http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/luthiers-corner/17182-official-mlp-rist-guitars-build-thread.html

This is the build thread of the first guitar that was to be given away in support of the forum. :)

IMHO it should even be a sticky as part of MLPs history.
Come on Roman, we all know you are trying to get in on the sweet, sweet, internet fame that only this thread can provide ;)

I definitely agree that this should be a part of the list. I will post an update soon since I have a selection of several that might be helpful.

Hello everyone,
I am searching for any information regarding the historical process that Gibson used to dye and lacquer its 58-59 bursts.

I would just like to get an idea of what is known and or any speculations.

If there are relevant threads in existence please kindly point me in their direction.

:)

Hi all.

I am in the stage of beginning my first build and thus collecting the most of useful infos I can put my hands on. Right now I am searching basic tips and techniques about preparing templates. The point is, once you’ve got the plan you were looking for, got it print the right scale, what should be the method to get a set of separate templates with the help of only one print?

Reading many different threads dedicated to guitar build, it’s been stated that several templates were required (i.e.: one for the pick up routes, another one for the neck pocket, etc…) so here comes my questioning.

Once your print is glued to your MDF (or whatsoever), how do you manage to cut and align properly several pieces of MDF from the one with the plan glued on? Is there any useful thread here on the forum to help me clarifying the process (hope I made clear what I was trying to point here and please, forgive my somewhat broken english). Thanks in advance to your reply.

Very useful thread though. Thanks to all forumers who contributed.

P.S.: subscribed.
