Well.....

I told myself that I was DONE for the year after I bought Ericthered's 2016 Honeyburst traditional. That put me at 9 LP's, all acquired in the last 18 months, so I figured it was time to stop and be a reasonable adult for a while. My guitar count is too high and my Savings and retirement funds are comfortable, but not where I'd like them to be, so I was committed to plugging my money away for the rest of the year.

Then..... I stumbled across a facebook post on a gear trading page. One of the most gorgeous and unique looking honeyburst-type finish guitars I'd ever seen. All the hardware appeared to be aged, and just fit the guitar perfectly. 2013 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in Caramel burst. No weight relief at all.

Spoke with the seller in depth about the guitar and found out he had made numerous changes/upgrades to the guitar, all in line with things I would have done myself including:
-Wolfetone Dr Vintage Pickups
-Creamtone 500k Vintage Wiring Harness,
-Creamtone aged ABR1 Bridge and Tailpiece
-Creamtone Aged Amber Knobs & Pointers
-Aged Grover Tuners

After speaking with him at length about the guitar, I decided I had to have the damn thing. Great price, great shape, and great looking guitar. I realized that the seller was none other than MLP's own Satchmo, and that this guitar has a reputation on this board and other forums.

Anyways, I'm really excited for the guitar to show up tomorrow and play the hell out of it. It's speaking to me without even playing it, lets hope it really speaks to me on that first A chord!

2016 traditionals are bananas

The flaming is great...but my favorite part is the swirling "plain" grain where ur arm will rest.
Wow, what a top...and the back ain't too shabby.

Great choice!!!

You got Satchmo's Caramel Burst???? Oh man... I'm jealous... I've been lusting after that LP for a while now. Congrats. Sorry to see Satch selling it, but at least it's staying here local to MLP. :D

Very nice congrats.
I did the same mods almost to my 2013 Caramel Burst, other than the pickups which I install SD Antiquities.

Yes sir. Can't wait to pick this thing up tomorrow. It's got it's work fut out for it as my 2016 Traditionals are my 2 favorite guitars.

I have a 2013 LP Trad Pro II that I am not currently bonding with. Has all the whacky electronics and I couldn't get the setup to my liking without getting some fret buzz that's strong enough to kill body and sustain of the notes, but that's at the shop now in professional hands. I may throw in a 525k harness down the line with more traditional pots/wiring.

Anyways, I don't think I'm going to be disappointed.

Excellent. SD Antiquities have been on my radar for a long time but I've never pulled the trigger.

Is yours heavy with no weight relief? I guess this one weighs in a 9.75 lbs or so

Satchmo is selling another guitar? I noticed that his black Custom was up for sale as well. Something must be going on with him.

He had cravings for a different type of guitar and new halfstack. You know how GAS can be, I'm sure...

See 1'Alls post above. This guitar has been posted about and is relatively well known to regulars on this forum, and other groups/forums around the net. Mr Satchmo documented his mod process pretty thoroughly on here and a lot people seem to like the outcome.

I also have a 2013 Trad in Caramel Burst. The 2013 Trad is a different git than the 2016. Fatter neck, heavier, a slightly different vibe. Enjoy it!!!!

Glad you liked it man! I fit right in with your collection!

That guitar is a fantastic and is in good hands.

As far as why I sold all my les Paul's except for one is because I had crazy cravings for hollow and semi hollow body guitars and also ended up with a super nice hand wired vox type amp, incredible amp!

Anyways enjoy it in good health man

And yes the guitar is well known on the interwebz and mine and Donny's massive Facebook group haha.
