My biggest guitar idol has for more than 40 years been ALVIN LEE. But since the late 80´s, GARY MOORE has been a close second.
And when it comes to the ultimate overdriven Les Paul tone, Gary is my main inspiration.
It has been really sad for me to se the passing of my two guitar heroes during these past years.
Fortunately I have a signed and aged Alvin Lee " Big Red " ES 335 # 38 of 50.
And yesterday I was lucky enough to purchase a year 2000 Gary Moore signature with what I think is the best top I have ever seen on one of these.
NGD thread will follow when this beautiful guitar comes to Denmark in a couple of weeks.

Rock on and thank you for the music Alvin & Gary !! :dude:

Congrats! I really like how quilt fades to almost plain near the bottom.

Congrats, but I see one problem, you may spend more time looking at it than playing it. She's beautiful!

I guess Gary preferred the unbound studio look to the standard?
Looks like a studio with a premium top. I hope it was priced in the studio price range.

I guess the glass can be half full or half empty :hmm:
I will take this guitar over a plain top with beautiful bindings any day, but thats just me :thumb:

But you are right about the price : It cost the same as a good home recording studio.

Love mine, the best Paul I own! I have read Gary kept the binding off and wanted nothing more than a AA quality top to keep the price down. These are pics of when I bought it, he had put Seymour Duncans in it. I put the originals back in, but later have put Wolfetones in it and it now sounds perfect.

Here is another Gary M. signature that I saved in my archives.
