I ordered the “Fat” over wound 8.8 mini in cream. The p90 in the neck is just not getting me what I want. I want a fatter sound, and I guess I’m used to humbuckers in the neck. I pondered the whole humbucker conversion, and the humbucker in a p90 shape but I like the more traditional mini humbucker. I kept it cheap, going with GFS, but I’ve never played a mini humbucker and didn’t want to drop a bunch on one out of the gate. Plus I ordered a few more things to make the shipping seem more worth it.

I can get along with a bridge p90 just fine. In fact I have a custom wound MJ Duncan high output p90 ala Mike Ness in the bridge. If the mini humbucker doesn’t do it, I’ll be in touch with @Caretaker about making a deal on the guitar.

Obligatory picture of guitars. It’s nice to have choices.

I've had several GFS, and they all sounded great. I think you'll love it too :)

I just ordered a new quality soldering iron too. I’m going to install my new pre wired 50s style harness when I do the pickup. This Edwards plays very nice, nicer than my traditional, I just need to dial up the TONZE.
