Just ordered this CR8. It will be delivered tomorrow. It's the first flamey guitar I've had (previously solid colours or plain top). Flame or no flame, it will have a Bigsby soon. My ebony Trad is almost 10.5 lbs and I wanted something a bit lighter...

My prediction is that your Traditional will soon be for sale. . . once you go CR - you NEVER GO BACK!!

That's what grabbed me about it. I wasn't even looking for an R8 at the time. I saw that top and loved it. Then I saw it was a CR and the thought of a lighter (in weight) R8 made up my mind.

Snap! I picked this CR last night. I was pleasantly surprised expecting not to like it when plugged in but how wrong I was. :dude:

My god that is beautiful - what color is that?
Thank you. I agree!!

According to Gibson, it's a 1958 Lightly Figured Top Chambered Amber Orangeburst.

This one looks, to me, how a cherry burst 58 might well have aged and faded over the years. YMMV etc.

The colour and that top just grabbed me.

That is a beauty. Gibson are definitely on top of their game with these 58s.

Is yours aged?
