Talk to jonesy for your tone mojo. So far seems pretty good! If you are upgrading your pots, make sure you get new knobs as well.

Seeing that you have a solid state, your not gonna get the most out of any mod. I would say a good tube amp is the first thing you should work on. Then new Caps, Pots and wiring and then PUPs if you need them. However new guts never hurts no matter what your playing out of. You tone will improve even threw a solid state with something like a MoJo kit. I'd wait on the pups. That's how I'm doing all my stuff. I wont replace any PUPs in any of my guitars until I have a nice tube to really hear how they sound. Then if I'm not happy with them, I'll swap them out.

I'm with Lefty on this one. Especially since I did the upgrade on my 56 GT and heard the amazing difference in tone that changing the pots and caps makes. But it's not just the overall tone of the instrument that changes. It's the ability to get different tones out of all pickup positions just by turning your knobs. Yeah you can put top line pups in there and you will get some tone enhancement but put in the high end pots and caps as well and prepare to hear some REAL tone. And yeah Lefty's right nothing will make your sound sweeter than a good tube amp! Just wish I could afford that custom Blackheart.

No Tucker I would stay away from that kit. The switch and jack may be OK but to really get a drastic improvement in tone and control you want to spend the extra money and go with the RS Guitar Works kits that have the high quality matched pots and high grade capacitors. The ceramic disc caps in that kit won't be any better than your stock ones. Also check out guitarelectronics.com. They stock an LP upgrade kit with CTS pots and
Sprauge orange drop caps, switch and jack for $49.99 and shipping is free.

Whoa looks like they raised the price since I bought mine! But this is still a good deal for the price.

Get a hold of MLPF member JONSEY. He will hook you up with everything you need in that department. On top of that he will explain everything as well.
