I thought this was amazing. It's the making of the mid 70's hit 'I'm not in Love', by 10cc. The amount of work that went into it is astounding. 256 vocal tape loops were created to make a chromatic scale, these were mixed and turned into various chords, by selecting the tracks with the mixers sliders, manually at the right time.... like a mellotron for vocals... all with 16 track equipment.

Well worth the watch. Apologies if this has been posted before.

I've seen this before.

A crazy undertaking for one song, but it sure paid off for them!

After hearing Lennon explain some of the games the Beatles played with the tapes there began an intellectual aspect not used in rock previously.

We all became John Cage to an extent.

Very cool. Was a time playing 'what if?' was not a matter of programming.

It was many years after this came out that I found out what we heard on the radio back then was the short version.
Even then you knew they were doing some unheard of stuff with that song.
I just didn't know what.
really great song.

Despite my great dislike of singing back when this was released, it was one of a handful of songs where I enjoyed the vocals and lyrics immensely...

Remarkable recording achievement given the technology - all the more credit to 10cc
