How exactly is this done? The serial number only gives the year / production # / and site right?

Under the bridge pickup, in the cavity is where Gibson usually writes the model. You can also get the neck type and see if it's a plus top or not. Under the neck pickup, is the color.

You can also contact Gibson and with the serial number, they can usually tell you what shipped out with that number.

It is done by reading this forum for years, and then it comes to you naturally.

OK, I couldn't resist. I removed the pickups!

Front cavity marked HS or SH. I'm guessing Heritage Cherry sunburst, as that's what it looks like?

Rear Cavity - LPS+ Awesome! It was just sold to me as a 2006 Standard, but I believed it to be a Standard + due to the custom shop quality figuring. Looks like it's value just went up?

Here's the big surprise - No Burst Bucker Pros, as they have been replaced with Kliens. I'm hoping that's a upgrade? Some type of PAF clones?

How can I Identify which Kliens I have?

1. It should be either LP5+ or LP6+, indicating neck profile.
2. The "quality figuring" of this guitar has nothing to do with the Custom Shop.
3. Most Standards have plus tops.

I Know, I just meant that the only others I've seen with such a nice top are very expensive Custom shop models - thats all.

The LP5+ could be LP6+ but looks more like a 5. strange because is was sold as having a 60's neck, and I'm new to LP's but it doesn't seen very chunky ( Thinner than the "c" neck on my American Standard Strat.)

Not sure if I can identify the Klein pickups, as there are no numbers. Looking them up they are all pretty expensive!

I have attempted to pull resistance readings on the PU's while still wired. ( added .2) They both have the same resistance that I guesstimate to be 7.9 if uninstalled. That would make them the Epic 59 PAF set. That's sounds good to, and would guess an upgrade from the BB pros?
