Hi, guys

Help me to identify this 2009 VOS 1957 Goldtop pickups. Are they first run Custombuckers, Burstbuckers with A3 magnets or a Standard Burstbuckers?

Cheers!

Regular run of the mill Historics didn't get Custombuckers until 2013.

Standard Burstbucker #1 and #2 were used up to 2012.

2009 would be BB1 and BB2 as mentioned above.

(though the covers soldered in the corners are kinda different, most are soldered in the middle unless the covers were added later)

I have a spare set of these BB#1 and BB#2 that came in a 68RI I bought years and years ago.

Does anyone prefer these pickups?

If they were wound by PS then they are worth more?

right?

Jk

Not to go into a full on tone discussion....but BB2's get lost in a mix, you gotta be careful with them....

Custom buckers smak you in the face when your playing alone...which is why some people dislike them....but in a live mix they stand out....I found this to be very important in a live band...
