I'm about 20 minutes south of Baton Rouge. Pretty calm right now, but we're expecting it to get pretty bad in the early AM. We shouldn't get the storm surge that they will in NOLA. That storm surge is what usually causes the most damage.
Hopefully the billions in infrastructure we poured into down there does its job. This will probably be the first real test of the spillways and flood gates they built outside of the city to handle the surge. But just in case I think I’d move the chain saw up into the attic just in case I gotta cut a new skylight/exit til the chopper swings by to pick me up
It was a “feels like” 101 in Detroit today… miserable…and when it rains … it’s been torrential every time…
And …. Giant Grasshoppers (I haven’t seen since 1977) and tonight … dozens of dragonflies hunting mosquitoes.. (which was pretty cool to watch)… dragonflies are NOT common around here..
Mosquitoes are especially bad … can’t go out side for more than 10 minutes…
