Whats with the black line that runs down the fretboard? Did you change the switch cap? Where did you buy it?

I didn't change the switch cap, but I looked at some other photos of R9's and see that it might of been? I bought it used at Action Guitar in Arlington, VA. Great little shop. I traded in a Hot Rod Deluxe for a relic'd blues jr. too.
As for the fretboard, here is a picture of it...I like it.

You can see when it was made if you want. I'd be curious to know as well. If you type the serial number in at the site below it will tell you the month day and year your LP was made. Mine was made on October 17th 2004.

GuitarGuy503, that link doesn't work for historic Les Pauls. The only info you can get from a Rx serial number is the year it was made.

Great looking guitars, guys!

never heard the term before. Thanks.

Do a search for Brazillian fretboards on the forum. Mine is not Brazillian, which will be obvious when you see some. They have figure, but have a beautiful dark red color. They are figured and utterly amazing. I didn't know about them until about a month ago. If you're not familiar with them, they were limited and are very high priced now.

I think I'm on the road to really preferring the Ice Tea burst LP's.

They have a vintage character to my way of seeing. Just "right."

I suppose I should kite a check from my wife's checkbook and go find one for myself, but she's still got her father's old M+P S&W .38, and I foolishly bought some ammo for it a couple years ago.

She can also quote Dolly Parton in Nine to Five: "... I can turn you from a rooster into a hen with one shot!"

:wow:  :hmm: :wow:
