Hey guys, Just wondering, does anybody here know of an ice tea plain top? I like plain tops better than flamed and love the ice tea look so I was wondering if there are any pics or anything of an ice tea finish on a plain top?

This top is very plain in some lights, from some angles. In others, it has flame, or something like it anyway. But if you just wanna know what that finish looks like plain, here it is:

I chose my R8 because it looked so much like JP's, but a few years ago (per photo). It's Ice Tea, but it's much redder than most Ice Teas I've seen here. There's only so much in a finish name, I guess...

This was taken not ten seconds earlier, same camera settings, just a different angle:

I love the way the flame plays peek-a-boo, and when it does show it's very soft and ill-defined, as you can see. Distinct flamage is beautiful, but it's not for me.

wow, what a gorgeous burst River!:applause: Love the fact that it's got the best of both worlds going on in the top. And the coloring is sweet. You must be on cloud 9 with that one. It doesn't get much better than that. In your family shot is that a Raw Power Standard on the right? How do you like that baby? It's purdy as well. I'm just warming up to my '01.

Thanks. That's a '92 Standard of which I'm the original owner. http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/my-other-guitars/70467-great-naturals-safe-work.html. The R8's neck is the chunkiest I've heard of to date. http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/historics-reissues/65839-measuring-neck-feel.html.

Im pretty sure the new 2009 LP Traditional Pro's do a plain top with iced tea finish. I was looking earlier this year at them, fine guitars too!!
