I got this from UG's new ZW interview

"They just had a bunch of tops and I guess a batch of them were drying and they weren’t smoothed out and beveled the way they are when you see the finished project. They’re kind of bumpy and shit like that. So it was actually before they smooth ‘em out. I said, “Dude, you know what would be awesome? If they actually just had the guitar so the top is like this.” Put ‘em on the guitar with no lacquer, no nothin’. I mean so it’s nothin’ but bare wood. I mean that’s all you’re getting. "

Zakk wasn't the first person, (or the 1,000th) who said the same thing about the pre-sanded LP bodies when taking a plant tour, but he definately helped legitimize the idea.

I think it's a great guitar too, but not for that much $$$. If the were about $800 or so I'd pick one up, but not for $1,399....
